Russell Brady, a veteran of the Civilian Conservation Corps, joined the 182nd Infantry in January 1941. It was the same day that Robert Bradley joined the unit, amd their stories would remain linked well after the war. In 1945, Brady married Bradley’s older sister Doris May Bradley.
Brady was a truck driver in the Army. About June 1942, while the brand new Americal Division was stationed on New Caledonia, Brady transferred out of Company G to another unit.
